National Hospice & Palliative Care Month

hospice palliative care month

Since 1978, November has been recognized annually as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month. It’s fitting that Heartlinks (formerly known as Lower Valley Hospice) has been serving patients and their families since the national observance began.

Hospice and palliative care professionals work to remedy pain symptoms to help maintain a patient’s comfort and quality of life. They also provide emotional and spiritual support. Every year, nearly 1.4 million people living with a life-limiting illness receive care from hospice workers around the country.

We encourage you to celebrate the strength and compassion of the professionals and volunteers who help people live with dignity, comfort, and support at the end of life, not only in November but all year.
