Walmart Spark Good Round Up Program
When purchasing items on Walmart.com or in the app, round-up your change for Heartlinks when you checkout. Every cent helps further our mission.
In your Walmart.com account, go to “Giving & Impact” and select Heartlinks as your preferred charity. Then, check to box to round-up with each online or app purchase you make.
Create a Facebook Fundraiser
Facebook makes it easy to host your own fundraiser. Simply log into Facebook, choose “Raise money” and search for Heartlinks when you create a post to your community. Think your friends won’t give? You may be surprised how large your circle of influence is. People give towards organizations they trust and those their friends recommend.
Memorial Gifts
Every donation in memory of your loved one is a treasured gift to Heartlinks. Your gift will be acknowledged with a card sent to the person honored or the family of the loved one you are remembering. To ensure acknowledgement of memorial gifts a notification address is needed. We do not disclose gift amounts.

In-Kind Gifts
Our programs and services often need specific items or gift cards to purchase materials that may not be funded by Medicare. We welcome gifts such as:
- Items to Support Patient programs (quilts and blankets, fidget blankets, stuffed animals, American flags for veterans, gas cards for volunteers who visit patients, art supplies, medical supplies from our Amazon and Walmart wish lists)
- Silent Auction Items for Fundraising Events (gift baskets, gift cards, weekend getaway packages, hotel stays, airline tickets, passes to attractions)

Grateful Families Program
Heartlinks strives to bring compassionate care to the patient and their extended network of family and friends. Our Grateful Families program provides an opportunity to say “Thank You” for the care you and your loved ones received. A donation to Heartlinks will help enhance and continue the outstanding level of care our community has come to expect, and ensure it remains accessible to all.
Nominate a Heartlinks Hero
A Heartlinks Hero is an employee or volunteer who went the extra mile for you and your loved one. When you nominate a Heartlinks Hero they will receive your note of thanks and well-deserved recognition.

Becoming a monthly giver allows Heartlinks to deliver lasting impact to the families living in our community. Monthly donations are automatic, making it extremely convenient for you.
Heartbeat of Heartlinks
The heartbeat line can be a symbol of strength, love and the ability to move forward. By joining the Heartbeat of Heartlinks you are becoming a part of our strength by showing your love and helping your community hospice to move forward. Becoming a monthly giver allows Heartlinks to deliver lasting impact to the families living in our community. Monthly donations are automatic, making it extremely convenient for you.
You can provide lasting support for families facing a loved one’s last days in the following ways:
- Your monthly gift of $15 (50 cents a day) helps offer bereavement resources – including a library of books and videos, and up to 13 months of counseling for a grieving family.
- Your monthly gift of $25 (83 cents a day) helps purchase specialized medical equipment for our pediatric palliative care patients including child-sized stethoscopes, ear thermometers and blood pressure cuffs.
- Your monthly gift of $35 (1 dollar a day): helps provide a day of medical supplies, medical equipment and pharmaceutical needs for somebody’s loved one on hospice.
- Your monthly gift of $100 (3 dollars a day): helps pay for medical staff that is specially trained in navigating the most difficult chapters of life with dignity, compassion and peace of mind.
Volunteer
Time is the most valuable commodity. We are honored when you choose to give it to support Heartlinks. We rely on volunteers to provide companionship to our patients, help with administrative tasks and events, and staff our two thrift shops. Learn more about volunteering here.

Making a gift in your will or living trust can guarantee a lasting impact on your life’s work. You can designate Heartlinks as a recipient of a specific asset, a certain dollar amount, a percentage of your estate or the remainder after all other provisions are specified.

Life Insurance Gifts (Beneficiary Designations)
Continue supporting our work after your lifetime by naming Heartlinks as a beneficiary of your retirement plan, life insurance or insurance annuity assets. Your hard-earned money will go further when donated to a nonprofit organization.
- IRA and Retirement Plan Beneficiaries: Because they are subject to income taxes to your beneficiaries, retirement assets make ideal gifts to tax-exempt charitable organizations such as Heartlinks.
- Life Insurance Policy Beneficiaries: This low-cost and income-tax free option is a popular method of providing much-needed funds to Heartlinks upon your death.
- Insurance Annuity Beneficiaries: Unlike life insurance, annuities carry an income tax burden to the recipient. However, as a nonprofit, Heartlinks can eliminate the tax bill if named a recipient.

Donor-Advised Funds: Make Your Gifts Grow
- A donor-advised fund is held at a community foundation that distributes funds to other charities such as Heartlinks. You can open a donor-advised fund with a written agreement between you and the organization giving you or your family members the right to recommend distributions be made from your fund to Heartlinks (and any other organizations you choose). For donors who want to stay involved in advising on the use of their gifts, a donor-advised fund offers participation without being as restrictive or as expensive to operate as a private foundation.
